This program shows us how to recognize and respond to the hazards of H2S. Your life and that of your coworkers may depend on it. It will prepare you to recognize points of H2S release, operate SABA/SCBA, perform Rescue and revival skills, operate some Detector Tube devices and electronic gas monitors and analyze Oil and Gas Related Case Studies. Closed book exam.
H2S Awareness
Theory on Hydrogen Sulphide Gas . Often taken by Seismic and Survey personnel who are not likely to wear breathing apparatus or operate gas monitors.
Theory program to introduce candidates to the physical properties of
Hydrogen Sulphide Gas. Points of release in the Oil and Gas industry are reserved, and occupational exposure limits of H2S and case studies discussed. No breathing apparatus or rescue/revival practice performed. Open book quiz. 3 Year certification. Up to 4 hours in length.

Standard First Aid
Canadian Red Cross Oriented includes AED and CPR Level A (other levels on request)
2 day program. Includes Emergency First Aid content with Moving and Transportation, Slings, Splints, Poisons, Environmental injuries and more. Physical skills and lecture format. 3year ticket awarded. Recommended for people driving 40+ surface time for commercial purposes or entering well sites, plus work related requirements.

A one day recertification may be available after 3 years.
Emergency First Aid
Canadian Red Cross Oriented. Includes CPR Level A (other levels on request) 1 day program.AED , Choking skills, wound management and bandaging, medical conditions, burns, primary and secondary survey and shock. Emergency Action Principles , Emergency Medical Aid Act and First Aid Regulations covered. Open book exam. Certificate card awarded with 3 year expiry. Physical skills and lecture format.
Recommended minimum standard program for work related to gas plants, pipeline and Refineries.

CPR (Cardio pulmonary resuscitation)
Red Cross oriented. One year certification on stand alone CPR. Up to 3 years under the First Aid umbrella.
CPR Level A : Adult Oriented includes Heart Disease Risk Factors, AED, and choking skills for lay people.

CPR Level C: 2 rescuer CPR Skills – Adult infant and child and above & AED. Up to one day. For workplace teams.

CPR HCP - Healthcare Providers - 1 and 2 rescuer CPR skills, adult, child, infant. Bag valve mask. AED. Dentists, Dental Hygensists, physicians, nurses and advanced health care workers as defined by their associations. 6 hours. 4 hours for recertification through the Red Cross.

PST
Petroleum Safety Training computer self teach program. Book an appointment with our proctors, usually 4-6 hours. Temporary certificate awarded, followed up by permanent ticket from ENFORM. Driven by IRP 16 (Industry Recommended Practice) of ENFORM, this Module – based interactive computer program covers oil and gas activities, safety hazards, personal protective equipment, WHMIS, communications, specific options on Exploration, Drilling, Gas Plant and other areas. (at least 2 options must be completed).

CSTS - PST
Construction Safety Training – This is an PST option and must be taken with the PST conjuction with the original course. This course is often requested when Construction personnel attend gas plants and refineries. An Enform temporary certificate is awarded following successful completion, followed by permanent ticket of 3 years. No extra charge if PST is registered and paid at same time.
TDG
Transportation of Dangerous Goods – The TDG regulations were passed to protect the Public and the environment from dangerous occurrences. Our program is designed for road mode application and discusses the activities of the consignor, consignee and carrier. Course includes training, packaging, classification of Dangerous goods, safety marking and placarding, documentation, Emergency Response Assistance Plan (ERAP) and Accident Reporting. Open book exam, movie and lecture format. Bring in your description of your dangerous goods and Documentation for a more site specific program! Permanent ticket awarded following successful Completion. Up to 3 year certification (tied to length of time you work for the employer or if are self employed) Up to 4 hours in length.

WHMIS
Workplace Hazardous Material Information System, Occupational Health and Safety oriented program covers Chemical Hazard Regulation, training, classification, supplier and workplace labelling, Occupational Exposure limits, chemical routes of entry, material safety data sheets (MSDS). Open book exam. Bring in your list of chemicals and MSDS for a more site specific training program. Lecture and movie format. Ticket renewal recommended regularly as company policy Up to 4 hours in length.

Confined Space Entry Pre Entry Level I
Alberta Occupational Health and Safety oriented program, covering theory, Pre-entry into confined spaces, definitions, case studies, rescue skills, communications, code of practice, gas monitoring, flammable and explosive environments,lockout and work permits and operation/ donning of SCBA/SABA. A combination of theory , physical skills and a movie or multiimedia included. 3 year certification card awarded after successful completion of Open book exam. No actual entry into confined spaces occurs in this program. Usually 1/2 to full day program depends on clas size & requirements of the jobsite.

Space Entrant /Monitor - an Alberta BC Safety course (an OSSA licensed Provider)
4-6 hour theory program, asociated with the OSSA sites (Oil Sands Safety Association) $150 + 7.50 TAX = $157.50 per person. 3 year expiry
Bear Awareness and Avoidance - Alberta Safety Council Oriented.
This program is created to provide the information to hikers and employees who enter Bear Country. It is not designed for hunters. As these wild animal’s habitats are encroached upon, bear confrontations have become more frequent, and in some cases, predatory. The course will cover Grizzly and Black Bear characteristics, handling bear sightings and encounters, camp set-up and food preparation, deterrents and Legislation. Lecture and movie format. Up to 6 hours. 3 year certificate ticket awarded after open book exam successfully undertaken.

Fall Protection Basics Program
Falls, trips and slips are one of the leading causes of injury and death, both at home and in the workplace. This industrial oriented program will focus on the underlying causes of falls, prevention and fall protection systems.
The course includes:
- Fall Protection Learning Objectives and CSA and ANSI standards
- Alberta OH&S Safety Code, Part 9 legislation
- Elimination,analysis,prevention and control plus overview of types and effects of falls
- Worker and Employer responsibilities and recent incidents and statistics
- Impact forces, fall arrest, Maximum arrest forces, fall clearance, free fall distance and calculations
- Swing falls, suspension trauma, fall protection and rescue plans
- Overview, definition, design purpose,pre-use visual inspection,care and maintenance, storage and hazards of ppe
- Donning and doffing of body harnesses and inspection
Upon successful completion of theory and physical skills and exam, a certification ticket for three years is awarded. This course is certified through Allstar Enviro Safety
Fall Protection OSSA- an Alberta BC Safety Course (An OSSA licensed Provider)
This program is accredited by ABCS(Alberta BC Safety) and in association with OSSA (Oil Sands Safety Association) guidelines. 6-8 hour program includes theory and physical skills. 3 year ticket is awarded from ABCS.
