This program is accredited by ABCS (Alberta BC Safety Ltd) and in association with OSSA (Oil
Sands Safety Association) guidelines. The lead instructor - Arliss T.E.Levine, CRSP, CHSC,B.A.
is with Allstar Enviro Safety. She, is authorized under the auspices of ABCS and is listed as an
instructor through this training organization.
This 6-8 hour program includes theory and physical skills. After successful completion of the
exam and physical skills (harness training and tripod), a 3 year fall protection ticket is awarded.
This is fully accredited through OSSA.
Course content includes fall protection basics, fall accident statistics, dynamics of falling,
regulations and CSA standards, fall protection systems and hierarchy, ABC"s (anchor, body
harness, connecting devices), Equipment care, rescue plan and fall protection plan, calculation of
free fall distance, total fall distance and clearance.
Who should attend?: Anyone entering an OSSA member site, who must use fall protection
devices where there is a danger of falling may be required to take this program. The seminar
ensures that students understand fall protection safety principles and how to apply them to real
work environments.

Fall Protection Basics Program
Falls, trips and slips are one of the leading causes of injury and death, both at home and at the
workplace. This industrial oriented program will focus on the underlying causes of falls,
prevention and fall protection systems.
This general program is approximately 6-8 hours and includes theory, movies and physical skills.
Exercises on the physics of falls, fall hierarchy and fall protection systems, and harness training
are components of this interactive seminar.
Ticket awarded from Allstar Enviro Safety, with a 3 year certification.
