This program is accredited by ABCS (Alberta BC Safety Ltd) and in association with OSSA (Oil
Sands Safety Association) guidelines. The lead instructor—Arliss T.E.Levine, CRSP, CHSC,B.A.
is with Allstar Enviro Safety. She, is authorized under the auspices of ABCS and is listed as an
instructor through this training organization.
This half day program includes theory, an instructor-led video presentation and movies on
Confined Space Entry. The purpose of this OSSA Confined Space program is to ensure that the
end-user demonstrates proficiency and a general understanding of the duties of a monitor and
entrant. Content includes regulations, Regional Code of Practice, responsibilities, communication,
entry permits, logs and signage,tagging, physical hazards and dangerous atmospheres, and
entry authorization. 2 cards are awarded after successful completion of program and exam.
Both Monitor and entrant cards have a 3 year expiry. Confined Space Entry and Monitor are
combined into one program of approximately one half day. It is undertaken in a classroom
environment.

Confined Space Entry Level 1- accredited through Allstar Enviro Safety
Confined and restricted spaces are high hazard environments that frequently kill workers
throughout North America. Should a worker need to monitor or enter a restricted space with
limited access or egress, which may have a flammable, explosive, toxic or high hazard
environment, it is essential to have Confined space training.
The most recent Alberta regulations and CSA standards are covered, pre and post entry
requirements, statistics, movies, physical skills and theory are covered in this dynamic program.
It is performed in a classroom environment.
It is generally 6-8 hours in length, dependent on class size and type of confined spaces the
students work in. The program can be tailored to meet the site-specific confined spaces that the
students are exposed to. After successful completion of skills and exam, a 3 year certificate is
awarded through Allstar Enviro Safety.
